Review of Chitika and Its Pair With Google Adsense and Infolinks

What is Chitika?
Chitika is an advertisement program which gathers advertisers and web publishers on a single platform. Webmasters always seek to maximize their earning using all possible means. If you are thinking about removing Adsense and using Chitika alone in place then you will surely be disappointed however if you plan to use Chitika in addition to Adsense then it for sure is a decent addition to your website earning, especially for those webmasters who make websites solely to be monetized by advertisement programs like Google Adsense or Infolinks.
Chitika Vs Infolinks:
I have personally used both Chikita and Infolinks and I say both of them perform almost equal in their slabs. It all depends upon your niche area and the advertisement slab. Both of them pay well if your website falls into the areas for which they have plenty of advertisers. But if they don’t have targeted ads for your website, you will find them extremely low paying. In my experience, I rank Infolinks slightly over Chitika but maybe that’s because of my niche area.
Using Google Adsense, Infolinks and Chitika all 3 Together:
I have seen cases in which webmasters have used Google Adsense as their primary pay per click program but have used Infolinks and Chitika as well on the same website as second and third source of earning. Infolinks offer text based advertisement so it can cover comments section or any least important text paragraphs. Chitika Ad Formats and Ads Placement:
Chitika ad formats include 728×90, 120×600, 468×60, 300×250, 250×250, 180×150, 120×120 and 120×60 size plus they have mentioned that they can create a custom ad format for you if you request. Chitika has no maximum limit of ads per page like Google Adsense, so you can place as many Chitika ads as you want on any webpage. Although it is not a good idea to fill your page with ads only but you won’t get your Chitika account banned even if you fill your page with Chitika ads. That’s a plus point if you have such type of website that has plenty of ad spaces on every page.
Chitika Affiliate (Referral) Program:
Alternatively if you are not interested in pay par click program of Chitika, you can earn using Chitika affiliate program as well. Apparently their affiliate program is very attractive and can produce lots of earning if planned properly. You will receive $25 if you refer an advertiser to their website and that advertiser spends $100 or more in ad campaigns. On the other hand, if an ads publisher signs upon chitika through you, you will get 10% of your referred ads publisher for next 15 months of your referrals approving date. That’s means if you refer 10 successful ad publishers to Chitika website and they earn $1000 per month each, you will get $1000 per month. However it is not as easy as it seems, conversion ratio in affiliate system depends upon the type and quality of your website traffic.
Chitika Search Targeted Ads:
Chitika ads script can distinguish between direct visitors and visitors from search engines. If a visitor comes from a search engine, Chitika ad script can display ads according to the search keyword for which your website visitor searched prior to visiting your website. This is a very useful feature because visitor is more likely to click on an ad related to the keyword he was searching for.
Chitika Payment Methods:
Chitika pays its publishers either using Paypal or using Check. Minimum payout Paypal is $10. If you want to receive a check then you will need to have minimum $50 in your account to have a check issued. Payment is sent to you after 30 days of your payment maturity.

Adsense is the largest ads publishing network worldwide and there is no doubt about it. If you are interested in starting a website to make money using Adsense, you should first decide an area in which a seller can be interested to display his ads. Once you decide the area then next step is how to gather visitors for that specific area.
For example, You already know that a lot of companies make shoes so many sellers should already be interested in displaying ads to sell their shoes online. You can start a website displaying information about shoes in this way, the people interested in Shoes information will visit on your website and if you put Adsense code on your website, the visitors are much more likely to be interested in Adsense ads and thus can result in a much more Adsense money instead of thousands of raw visitors on a general website which is designed without targeting any specific market.

Elance vs Getafreelancer (Now known as Freelancer)

I am team leader of a small team of graphic designers, web designers and coder. I have started my career with freelance websites and Elance and Getafreelancer (now known as Freelancer) were the main two websites I have used at that time. As for reliability, Elance and Getafreelancer, both are very reliable and have a good repute in the freelance market. You can see some scam reports about them as well but they are probably from some people who either had bad luck with their clients or had tried to scam their clients themselves.
Comparison Between Elance and Getafreelancer (Freelancer):
Getafreelancer: If you are an individual graphic designer, web designer or web developer then Getafreelancer is best for you. You will be able to find a lot of small scale and easy to use project there and you won’t need to take care of project plans or documentations, progress reports etc. The projects on Getafreelancer are usually small or medium scale and small scale projects take only a week or so and you can quickly get the output of your work.
Your feedbacks and track record is important but the primary factor in project award seems to be the price. So even if you don’t have a brilliant track record, if you offer a competitive price, you are more likely to win the project on Getafreelancer. Due to low price appreciation, individuals are more successful on Getafreelancer.

Getafreelancer if free to join and if you want to become a gold member, there is a very little fee to do so and an individual can easily afford. Last time I checked, the gold member fee was only $19.95 per month. Elance: Instead of targeting individual freelancers, Elance is much more interested in corporate sector. You should at have a small team or company in order to enjoy full benefits of Elance.
The average Service buyers on Elance seem to be interested in quality more than price. You previous reviews and feedbacks are much more important on Elance and you should have a very good track record in order to win medium and large projects. Elance fees are higher than Getafreelancer fees so individuals with low income might find the fees a little higher for them. Elance charges 6% commission on free membership, and 4% to 6% on paid memberships. Service providers have to pay per bid (indirectly “Connects are spent per bid”) however it results in high quality bids since every one have to pay for every bid so the bids make more sense.
Good project management skill are required in order to sustain a good position on Elance, you will need to prepare detailed project plans, documentation, milestone sheets, quotations and progress reports. Good communication skills are also required to put a professional impression on a corporate buyer.

There are several ways to monetize your website traffic but usually a beginner websites starts with Google Adsense. No doubt that Adsense is the best PPC service out there. However Adsense also allows webmasters to use third party PPC companies as well provided that their ads don’t look like those of Adsense. So after searching a lot on the web, I came to know that In Text Advertisement is probably the best PPC system to use along with Adsense. There is virtually no chance that the ads can look like Adsense ads so you are safe to use In Text Advertising services along with Adsense.

Now the second question is, “which in text advertising company is best?”. You will be able to see many comments in the comments section on this question but personally I only see two companies worthy to put on your website in the context of in text advertisement.

Infolinks is a legit business, not a scam one. No doubt that infolinks is my first choice. I myself tried them on my website and have seen very good results so far. They are good, friendly and give you support when required. When you use their code on your website, the code automatically convert some keywords on your website to hyperlink ads. Infolinks admin panel provides a way to change colors of in text advertising links. In addition to that, you can change them to have double underlines if you want to separate them from your single line hyperlinks. Although the click rate of Infolinks is a way lower than Adsense but their CTR is always higher than Adsense which compensates the loss a bit. The only drawback of Infolinks I have seen so far is their surprisingly low rates for Asian traffic, other than that they are fine. If majority of your website traffic comes from any Asian country specially from India of Pakistan, then you probably should think once again before using Infolinks on your website.

Kontera is also a reputable in text advertisement PPC Company which is compatible with Adsense. You can use it along with Adsense without any worries. I haven’t seen any significant drop in my Adsense earning after addition of Infolinks or Kontera on my website so they are worth trying. If I analyze PPC share of my website income, Adsense has almost a share of 70 to 75% and Infolinks has a 25 to 30% which is not bad. You will find a lot of articles and posts about how to make money, how to work online etc etc but no one will explain the actual thing. Yes it is true that you can make a reasonable income by joining some true and fair work online programs but it is not as easy as it seems to be. These days, almost every one knows how adsense, clickbank and other online businesses work, does that mean every one who knows about these online businesses can successfully earn enough income from these work online programs? The answer is, No. Uploading a blog on a domain and then posting articles on it doesn’t mean you are a true webmaster; a true webmaster is a person who analyses every thing around him. You will find a lot of ideas only if you think sensitively.

For example, if you are earning income by publishing ads on your website, you will need to write relevant articles about your website with unique contents. To write articles, you will have to use your imagination. Every single thing around you has some importance.
